Release Revelation...
« on: March 31, 2003, 04:45:35 PM »
I  just read an article in Bowhunt America, a free magazine that I got at Gander Mountain.  The articles dealt with release techniques for better shooting.  One of them that really helped me literally overnight was this one.  Adjust the release length to fit the release lever, into the first groove in your trigger finger.  When you draw the bow, instead of "pulling the trigger", rest your trigger finger on the release trigger, and concentrate on aiming.  Move your release elbow slightly to the rear, in an arc toward your center of your back,  to release the arrow. This helps punching the trigger, and target panic.  This works just fine for me, I won't be changng THAT technique...has this one been around for a while?   I would recommend this for those that haven't tried it... :D

Hello,
Been my recommended way since index-finger-trigger releases have been on the market!
I am, therefore, I think.

Release Revelation of my Own.

I had a release revelation of my own a few years ago.  I was deer hunting here in Missouri and went to get my release out of my hip bag and it was no where to be found.  I must have dropped it in the early morning darkness on the way to my stand because the zipper on my bag wasn't closed all the way.  I decided to stay put and within an hour three deer come waltzing by my stand.  I had to do this the old fasioned way.  With my fingers.  I took a nice fat doe through both lungs and she dropped within 40yds.  I never bought a replacement for that release and have been shooting with just my fingers ever since.  My fingers are easier to keep track of.

I have tried fingers, and am not satisfied with my performance with it.  I too have had the lost release problem.  Now I carry a spare for just such occasions.
