Found this interesting , me and my dad where shooting 1/2" steel plates at 75 yards over the weekend his Marlin 336 in 35 remington with factory 200sp put a nice dent in it and my savage 99 in 308 using high energy federal 180's also put a nice dent in the plate. But when i shot my new handi rifle in .25/06 using remington 100 PSPCL they went clear through every time, the federal 85 grain ballistic tips didn't but those remington's zipped right through.Just thought i would share that with you guys.those 308's were close so i would think maybe a 30/06 might go through and i am curious to se what the 35 whelen does with factory 250 PSP, I finaly get to pick up my new remington 750 next saturday so i'll give it a try. Later Tanoose

tanoose i have seen the same thing with a 220 swift and 30/06 the o6 was putting a big dent in the 1/2 inch plate at 100 yard's the swift was blowing rite through it did some reading and read that it was because the swift was spining so fast dont no if this is true but that is what i read.
