I have a new 1895G 45/70. When loading the magazine, the first round goes in with no problems. After that, pressing the bullet nose down on the loading gate doesn't open it. I had to use the bullet nose to push the cartridge in the magazine forward a bit, then push down on the gate. I have a 336 in 30/30 and an 1894 in 44 Mag, and have never had this problem before. It does bugger up the soft lead noses a bit.
Is this problem caliber specific, or is there something wrong with my loading gate?
Thanks.
