Why does one group have to be right and the other wrong?
I am sure that there are some who believe that crimping is the answer for why the ammo they are using is as accurate as it is. There are lots of reasons given to crimp ammo for hunting and one of the reasons is accuracy. If you have tried both ways and your ammo is more accurate then by all means crimp. I have tried it both ways and my accuracy went into the toilet when I crimped. I don't crimp. I have never had any problems with my loads. My bullets don't back out of the case, they don't go deeper into the case. All my hunting ammo shoots SUB-MOA groups and it is more accurate without crimping. For me, personally, the right way is no crimp. If you find crimping is necessary to keep your bullets where they belong and / or they are more accurate with a crimp then by all means use the crimp. This is preference not a rule, law or commandment from some religious book. Find what works for you by trying it both ways and then pick the one that is right for you.
