I heard a new one this weekend and was wondering if anyone else has heard this. was talking to a farmer that lets us coyote hunt and he said that the neighbor got a donkey. since then they have not heard a coyote howl. he said that a coyote will not stay anywhere around a jack ass. any info would be greatly appreciated.

The guy bordering the east side of my 60 acre patch had two of them mules in a five acre patch that was also wooded on his east side. He would hear them yotes on either side but he wouldnt see much on his own property.

A mule and a donky are very different things, you get a mule with a donky and a horse, and you can also get a henny with the same thing, depends on which the male is.  It is very common to run a donky with a heard of sheep, they will do grevious harm to anything that tries to harm a sheep.  Larry

llamas can be used in the same manner.  Its a fairly common practice for ranchers to use llamas or donkeys in a pasture with sheep to reduce predation from coyotes.  As long as the pasture is not too large it works pretty well.
