Cheap Springer Air Rifle
« on: May 31, 2006, 07:21:44 AM »
Greetings,

A friend is looking to purchase an inexpensive springer air rifle to practice his off-hand shooting.  His price range is $225 to $250.  What would you suggest as the most accurate springer (.177 cal) for that price range.
All the best,

Dan Theodore

Dan, I have a beeman r7 that is very accurate and has a very good trigger. I think if you check www.straightshooters.com you'll find that its in his price range.

If he's not in a big hurry, he might even be able to keep an eye out and catch a used R1 for the top end of that price range. He could probably get an R9 used for that price range quicker, though. I generally prefer the R9 to R7, with the R1 being the "bee's knees" for a springer. If he wants it now and wants it new, the R7 is a great choice.
