opinions on Beeman SS1000 Hunter in .22 cal.

i can get the combo version of this gun with a 3x9 scope for $170 (.22cal. at 800fps) . it is more than i want to spend as well as more than i should .... it is a nice looking gun from a company that makes some of the finest air guns . i was also considering the crossman 392 and blue streak(.22 and .20 cal. 675fps) as well as a break barrel crossman 800x (.22 cal,800fps) . im concerned about scoping issues on the 392 and bluestreak and the pumping noise.....but they are the best pumpers made . on the 800x id upgrade the scope to a leapers model....but the beeman is so much nicer looking and feels much better too . what do yall think? what would you choose? what do you recomend? thanks....ill be using the outfit for plinking and hunting squirls and rabbits

p.s.since pumpers are usually rated accurately for fps and springers are overrated or done with very light pellets , am i correct that the power of all these guns are about equal using 14.3 gr pellets ?

i would get Tech Force 25 ,Tech Force 99 Magnum, or the daisy 22x or croman 2200. with the tech force 25 and 99 the cost less and are more powerful in .22cal (25-800 fps and 99mag-900fps) and you can get them from www.compasseco.com.  with pumpers i do very well with my 2200mag. i can kill all game at 45yards or less(nutter, nutra, rats, crows) if you use a pumper you have to just work on being a better hunter.

I got a beeman in 177 , some of the guys here think I made a mistake and could have got more gun for the money. I have not had mine long enough to give you any hard evidence one way or the other. I can say that spring guns take a little getting used to .I am not getting lots of real small groups, but i am consestantly hitting two inch targets. I have used it to kill a couple of small vermin. squrrel season is open but i have not got a shot yet. I am looking though. I do like the wieght and feel of the gun. Time will be the judge on how well it holds up. Again I have been told, I my be disapointed . So far the gun shoots fine the scope keeps center, and i am getting a little better at shooting it. It does not like being braced on a hard surface. It twitches and you do not hit your mark. I do better if i absorb the twitch. I am still figuring it out. I have only had it for a few weeks now. check out the break barrel thread several other guns are discussed in it. good luck. D.C.
