Just testing the water.....
« on: June 04, 2006, 04:27:39 PM »
I have a Marlin Cowboy in 38-55. I am thinking of selling as I no longer shoot it.  Is there much intrest in these guns?

It is NOT for sale at this time, I'm just asking if these is a market.

Oh yeah!  If you sell it you should definately get your investment back.  They are sought after.  HTH.  Mikey.

I think you'll find interest limited. I believe Marlin dropped it for lack of sales if I'm not mistaken. If folks really wanted one enough to plunk down the cash they'd still be in the catalog. Still I'm sure you can find a buyer, just don't expect it to be a seller's market with folks crawling out of the woodwork all over begging for it. Lots of us "think" we'd like to have one but like so many others I've never bothered to put down the bucks to have one.

If you really want to get what its worth, post it on www.leverguns.com But remember it is a used gun.

To the right person it'll bring good money. Wonderful rifles. I got a very good deal on mine because it was in a local gun shop and most people probably didn't know what it was. So it sat. Had it been on the internet there are collectors that watch.

I still have it, but am on the fence about selling.

I REALLY wanted it. I got it worked up loads, (Lead) Shot it a bit, put a marbels tang on it..and so it sits.... Shoots great BTW...Only shot 250gr moly coated lead bullets at about 1200 fps, cowboy type loads.

I got busy with other things and dont do the cowboy shoots anylonger. My 375 & 45/70 Marlins & 500 H&R get the nod for whitetails and black bear...so I really dont "NEED" it.

I have a PILE casings and lead slugs........It dont eat much and costs nothing to sit in the safe.........
