Need a shoot'n glove?

A guy at the range today told me that if I ever want a shooting glove to pass on the $18 Past glove and pick up a weight lifting glove at Wal-Mart.  He showed me his and I sure can't tell the differance.  He said they cost about $4/pair.

:D I have not tried them, but my friend uses a golfer's glove.  He says it is great.  I use the Air Force flight gloves, they work great for me. :wink:

depende on what you ar shooting. I can and do use a lifter's glove when shooting a .41RemMag with hunting loads BUT when I break out the big stuff (45-70, 411JDJ, 7x30Waters) it is PAST time. I don't like shooting .44RemMag in anything but at least using a PAST glove I can work up loads not so with a lifter's glove.

I've been using the weight lifting gloves from wally town for over
a year now for my 480 and they work great.
And for less than 5 bucks hard to beat.

I use a weight lifter's glove with my 460 S&W Mag. and am quite satisfied with it.

Dont know if they would really do me any good.
I like to use a light touch on the handling & let my S/A's recoil naturally.

Sometimes the trigger guard will beat up the middle finger on my right hand while the hammer beats up the thumb on my left hand. My palm and heel of my hand do ok. Are shooting gloves for me. :?

I use soft leather riding gloves when i want to do quite a bit of shooting my 454 because i get the same treatment you are talking about. I buy them to fit kinda tight and it works for me :D ........Joe...........

:cb2: I've been using a pair of batting gloves for years, but sometimes my middle finger still got a beating. I bought some Uncle Mike's that have the padding for the trigger guard, but I haven't had a chance to use them yet. I actually have more trouble with hot loads in a .357 K-frame (which I don't do often) than I do with a .44mag.

The "padded" weightlifters gloves seem to soak up as much recoil as my PAST glove.  I recently bought a 2 pack of Mechanics Gloves (1 pr padded, and 1 pair unpadded) from Wally World for less than $20.  The padded gloves are great for the heavy calibers and offer full finger protection from cylinder blow by, etc..

I use the biker gloves (padded) from Target $4-$5.
