New to the game Filler question is what have you found best for fillers, shooting 405s/500 no gas check with reduced loads.
I have heard so many products, and have been told to put a piece of card board behind the bullet?
Just wondering better safe than sorry, but realy lite loads
So what my spelling is not the best,
But I can shoot straight!!!!!

If I'm using a powder as fast or faster burning than 4759 I do not use a filler or a wad.  I shoot lots of 45-70 loads with 400-500 gr bullets with 1.5 gr Dacron as the filler. These are used with 4895 in trapdoors and rifles with stronger actions. However these are mostly for top end loads (respectively for each action type). With most plain based cast bullets in that weight range the max velocity to retain accuracy is 1500-1600 fps.

I do not use a card under the bullet.

For more specific information please provide type of action and specific weight of bullet. Also what does "reduced load" mean to you in terms of velocity?

Go to www.gmdr.com for a boatload of reduced power loads.  Using data from that site I developed a lod of 13.5g HS-6 under Oregon Trail Laser Cast bullets.  The 300's go about 1167fps, the 350's about 1097fps.

Great fun, very inexpensive, no fillers needed.
