I don't know why some distributors are having a hard time getting Pro-hunter barrels. The gun shop I go to here in Delaware has some in stock. I was also in Elkins West Virginia 2 weeks ago and he had about 100 different Pro-hunter barrels. It was at a gun store called Wheelers.  :D

Thanks for the tip on Wheeler's, since I always drive by it when heading over  to visit the family.  Wheeler's is only 10 minutes from my home town of Beverly.  Now, I better hide the credit cards or I could get in some trouble :D

Yea, I know what you mean, I went in there and he had the biggest selection of Encore accessories I have ever seen.  :D  I was very impressed at the selection of guns and  reloading supplies and accessories.

I also have a barrel on back order with Midway. It is a regular encore 26" blued version in 22-250 ackley improved. It's been on order since the 3rd week of March. Customer service has told me that they the only information they have is that it is on order. I hope that when TC/Custom Shop finally gets around to filling orders we don't get a bunch of  junk, and have to fight with TC/Custom Shop to make it right.

Try buying a custom barrel.  I've had one on order since Jan 31st, and still waiting.  Hope to have it by September according to info recieved.  Next time I'll probably try a different barrel maker.

I just picked up a Kahatidin 20" Pro Hunter Barrel in 45-70.  Ed and Graf's both had them in stock.
