Kimber recoil

Been eyeballing a kimber classic in 7mmWSM for a while. I'm not overly recoil shy, but I'm a firm believer that the performance advantages of the mags usually aren't worth getting beat up on the bench. I've never shot a Kimber before, but I know they're a light rifle. Should I expect much more recoil than say a 700BDL, M77 or model70 in the same caliber? My decision would be so much easier if they just threw the 280 into their new long action line  :x

The Limb Saver, Kick Eze and Pachmyer recoil pads will take the sting outa just about anything, although I don't know abut the .700 Nitro Express.  :wink:

I agree with you that Kimber should offer the 280. I would have to say the
recoil on a Kimber is little more than normal weight rifles. I have a Montana
in a 308 and I find the recoil is assorbed a great deal at the bench if you slide one of Limsaver med slip-on recoil pads on. I use the Limbsaver along with a Harris bi-pod and have no problems shooting off a bench. I hope my reply helps you
