.357 shotshells

Has anyone tried one of these in a Marlin Lever?  I thought they would be a good way to take out the darn chipmunks that ate my boat trailer wiring, but it didn't want to chamber in my 1894 C.

I tried a CCI shotshell and was going to chamber it single shot, but it seemed way too tight so I quit while I was ahead.

I've shot a few through my 1894C. I had to feed them single shot with my fingers into the chamber, but they actually shot pretty good. I killed a starling at about 35-40 feet with it.

Never tried them thru the Marlin, but have run a few thru the Dan Wesson revolver for snakes.  Works pretty good out to about 20 ft.  Also tried a couple thru a Ruger 22 auto, but they wouldn't cycle the slide.

It just seemed very tight and I was nervous about having a live round stuck halfway in.

Try about 3 gr of Unique with a gas check over it. Next add your choice of shot to fill the case even with the top.  Next put a gas check, upside down, over the shot and crimp.  Makes a great shotshell and you get minute of robin at 30 feet with the two gas checks.

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.
