3 barrel combos question
« on: June 10, 2006, 06:31:57 PM »
Hey,Saw the different 3 barrel combos being offered on H&R site. Wanted to know if anyone could explain how these combos are able to fire both rimfire and centerfire? Are the rimfire barrels offset or do the frames/hammer have a selective firing pin(like TC Contender)? Regards,ArkyKen     Link to 3 barrel combos (http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Combos/barrel3.aspx)

We suspect the rimfire barrel is offset like the on Versapack .22/410, but on an SB2 frame....but no one has bought one to find out, dunno if they are even available yet. Maybe you should order one and let us know!! :-D

Does anyone know the price for these combos? I am considering getting a .223 for a juvenile training/deer gun. I looked on the Wal-mart site but did not see them.

Thanks,

I talked to NEF about them in mid-june 2006, and they said they hadn't shipped any yet.

Thanks for the info, BrotherJack. These combo's are looking pretty good to me.Buy the three barrel combo that best suites you, send the frame back for a trigger massage and a few (or) more barrels.. Bingo -- a multi barrel battery for a huge variety of uses. 8)

Yeah, I thought they looked like a pretty good deal too (though I wish they made a 12ga/17hmr/30-06 combo)... I ain't got much use for 22LR's since I got into the 17's.

There is a little concern about the fitting issue with the new combos. I personally don't see why though, sense it would have to be an SB-2 receiver for safety reasons.

Actually, I'm not sure it's a SB2 frame, but it should be OK.   That was the question I called NEF about.   My question was "will the reciever in the new 3 barrel combo's be compatable with the barrel accessory program."  (because they are listed as SC3-XXX, not SB2-XXX, I suspected maybe they had a new frame they're calling the SC3).   The nice lady at NEF answered - "Yes, they can be used with the barrel accessory program, but just so you know, we haven't shipped any of those yet."
