can I fire cor bon 45 colt + P in a Uberti single action revolver? the box says 537 ft lbs of muzzle energy - not loaded to saami specifications. Bufalo bore lists a 200 gr at the same muzzle energy and "can be fired in any post WWII revolver safely".  ??

What are these powerful 45 colt cartridges designed for?  Ruger super blackhawks? Redhawks? or 454 casull guns?

Not unless you want your Uberti to become a hand grenade.

They are intended primarily for use in guns made by Ruger but the FA guns will also use them fine. I don't think the S&W guns are rated for them. A BFR would likely handle them just fine. Yes any .454 Casull gun should handle then easily.

It is my understanding that the same type of ammo was used in this scantium .44 mag too and it grenaded on the shooter.

Do not fire +P ammunition in a Uberti, Cimarron Arms, Beretta Stampede, Taurus Gaucho, any 1873 model Colt revolver or 1875 Model Remington revolver or any other firearm of that period type regardless of date of manufacture.  They are all copies of the original 1873 design, 'cept the 1875 Remingtons, and that type revolver will not stand +P pressures.  They were never designed for +P pressures and metalurgy notwithstanding, they come apart under higher pressures.

You may be able to use them in a Ruger Vaquero, certainly in the Ruger Blackhawk, Freedom Arms and other current designs but keep the +Ps the hay out of those older designs, period.

It is as the Boss says - not unless you want that Uberti to become a grenade.   Mikey.
