Wow, what a week! Got back in with Digger at about 4 Monday afternoon. Spent the rest of the day unpacking and cleaning guns. Got to work at about 6:15 Tue. morning and put in 12 1/2 hours that day, and then ran like crazy the rest of the week too. Actually made a good post here on Wed. morning but my computer sent it into hyperspace somewhere so I'm trying again.
This year's shoot was soooooo cool for me. Got to meet and spend at least a little time with everyone there this year I think. Learned a lot about compensating for the wind too. The prarie dogs weren't as cooperative this year as last but I still managed some long shots between 4 and 500 yards but still got a lot of short range stuff too. There was one time when Digger and I found a new town that hadn't been shot and set up there. About the time we got good and ready the "Merles" called and Digger went to meet up with them and I got to shoot alone for about thirty minutes. Man! I was decapitating them little boogers at about 60-80 yards with the .223, that was fun! Got some great long range shots with my 220 Swift and Savage 22-250 too. Rimfire shooting on the last afternoon and mornings we were there just was icing on the cake. Even got a rattlesnake that was down in a burrow with my 20 gauge during the weekend too.
(Side-note)----Ole Paul is crackshot with that pistol of his too. :-D
BIG thanks to Wes for wearing himself out guiding all of us, to Dan for cooking two days in a row and for helping out with a meeting place, BIG thanks to Helen too, because we all know behind every good man there's a better woman.
Thanks to Stimpylu32 for the brass and the shotgun ammo and the carrying case too, you're alright man.
And last, but certainly not least, to Jimmy and Hellacatcher for getting me fixed up with a .357 Max barrel! Going to polish the chamber and run some rounds thru her today as a matter of fact.
To everyone I met and to those I saw again, it was a pleasure. You are all a GREAT bunch of guys and I feel priviliged to know every one of ya. Too bad this only happens once a year.
