Ultra hunter 45/70 Gov't

Ohhh boy got my ultra hunter back from the H&R i sent it back last month on the 30 and they got the 31 to be fitted with a 45/70 Gov't barrel and got it back today now thats fast when they tell you it will take up to month to get it back.


Christmas in june :)

Congrats, you'll have a blast with it, especially with the "hot" loads.

Yeah i have been looking at the buffalo bore's 300 gr magmun they alt to rock a whiretail :)

After your shoulder surg. from shooting the high power stuff , you may want to try some of these for general plunking .  :eek:

I have loaded and shot both of these loads , 300 and 405 and find that they are very accutate general shooting loads out of my 22 in. barrel .

Noticed something when i was cleaning this barrel it's got the ejector instead of the exstractor. I thought they where going to all exstractors on their barrels :shock:

As has been stated many times, they will eventually all have extractors, but they still have some caliber barrels with ejectors as they use their existing supply of barrels up.

It would be nice if they offered a choice, tho!! :wink:

Has anybody noticed the rifling in the 45/70 Gov't barrel in question the rifling lands have tiny lines cut through them straight line with the bore all the way from the breach to the crown.I cleaned on the bore a good hour with J-B bore compound and they are still there is this normal for the 45/70 Gov't barrel i know my 270 barrel don't have these marks :shock:
