i think the mount was from ashley outdoors, or now called ao sights, the mount set's up on the barrel in front of the reciever. a wedge goes into the rear sight dove tail, and a special nut tightens it up. it does not alter the gun at all! i use a leupold scout scope and i like the set up alot!!!! sighting is very fast! and still accurate enough, to hit well with out to 100 yards or so. i used weaver rings with big knureled knobs so i can take the scope off to use the tang sight when i want to. the scope returns to zero when remounted! i think thats pretty cool!
i shoot two loads in this gun. the plinking load uses 158gr. lswc at around 900 fps. and a 180 gr. load at around 1800 fps.
it's one of my favorite plinking guns (with the light load) but not hard to handle with the heavy one.
i also have the lyman tang sight, but i wish it had a windage adjustment. i dont like having to shim sights! but it's stayed set for a while now. so i guess it's not a problem.
