10-22 to 77/22 barrel swap???

can a barrel from the 10-22 be mounted on a 77-22 rifle? Both are chambered for the 22 rf cartridge. How would headspace be set? I turned down a chance to get a barrel and wonder if it was a mistake! My gun is the mark 2 version(the one with the UGLY plastic stock).

Would think so, I know the reverse works.  I put a match barrel on my 77/22 and a friend put the old 77/22 barrel on a 10-22.  That was years ago and don't remember if there was any minor work done or not.
