Best SUV
« on: June 18, 2006, 11:47:17 AM »
:D I commute 220 miles each day to work. I currently Drive a Mark V111
Lincoln that does a Honest 26MPG. I want a SUV because of the weather that  can ocure in the winter months.
I want to keep the MPG and I need a good ride(Back Problems) I have narrowed it down to the Excape, Hundai Santa Fe, Kia Sportage. I am open to any Real World experiences as I do not want to take the new car plundge but rather a 20,000 to 50,000 used ride.
Thanx

The #1 and #2 selling compact SUV is the 2006 Toyota Rav4 V6 and I4 in that order, I get 26-27mpg on the road with my 4WD V6 and can still tow 3500lbs, the I4 will get a bit better. The V6 is a hoot to drive, C&D did a 0-60 at 6.3 secs, it's nice to drive on the road as well as in the twisties. Be sure to sit in one and drive it a while, some reviewers state the seats are a bit short and don't provide good support, I'm 6', have never noticed it, tho.
