« on: June 19, 2006, 02:25:15 PM »
i need some ideas on what to put on a ruger birdhead vaquero thats coming in the mail this week hopefully

it is stainless with a 3 3/4 barrel 45lc

i thought abt getting some ajax staglites for it but got to thinking of all the mods i want to do to it and figured i should spring for something nicer

i love the way gunfighter grips from eagles feel but not sure if i want to go with buff horn or not

i dont care much for any kind of wood

i know a pard on the cowboy website that can make some nice elk horn grips for not a bad price

any other ideas i havent thought of????????

thanks

Ther's always real Ivory. Nothing looks, or feels like real ivory, and it ages well.

I can't realy afford in on all my guns, but that's what I would have if I could.

I had a Colt SAA done if real Ivory last November for a friend and it was great.  Guy named Paul Pershing in El Paso, TX., made and fitted the one piece grips and they were the nicest grain I've ever see on a pistol. The price was reasonable for Ivory and I was very satisfied.

It's something to think about, anyway.

Eagle grips also have American Elk horn grips, if you like Elk horn.
My thoughts are, if you like Stag, go with the real thing instead of staglite...you won't be sorry.
