flourescent fishing line
« on: June 19, 2006, 04:33:20 PM »
I mistakenly bought flourescent line.  I usually use clear.  What are your folks experiences with flourescent line.  I usually fish clear or fairly clear water.  I do find it easlier to use with my aging eyes, but what about the fish?  Thanks.

I have used stren fluorescent line with success for years in all water regardless of clarity. I believe it gives me an edge at times. Clear line is difficult to see on overcast days. Fluorescent line is a good compromise between hi-vis and clear line. Vertical jigging and drift jigging is when fluorescent line is most effective for me. This is when line watching is most important.

I really like it when fishing plastics or jigs and really need to watch my line..I have never felt that the fish shied away from it.  I use golden Stren when fishing topwaters and buzz bait. Most the line is out of the water during the retrieve with these types of lure anyway.

 Dear mikedb:
Might be a happy accident for you. I've always used a few feet of lighter test leader.
