Well I went to my favorite gun store after work today (Whittaker Guns, outside of Owensboro KY) and they had a Handi in 500 magnum on the used rack for $179. I snagged it and a couple of boxes of ammo. I was delighted to see that it had a nice set of Williams fiber optic sights. The other Handi 500 magnums I had seen had a big ugly plastic rear sight, these are much better and more compact. I dont know if the previous owner changed it or if H&R changed the sights they used.
Anyhow, I hope to get to shoot it before too long. If it shoots well, then I will invest further in reloading equipment. I will not only need dies, but a new deburring tool and perhaps some cleaning supplies that will fit the barrel. :grin:
