Can I shoot 45 long colt in my .410 barrel?

NO!

A .45 caliber bullet is either a .451" or .452", your .410 bore is .410" and that is before you get to the full choke. The .45/.410 barrel is a rifled .45 barrel and the .410 shotcup rides the lands of the rifling down to a straight rifled choke tube.

If you have a .45 caliber bullet (just a bullet), put it nose first into the muzzle end of your .410 barrel, you will see right away why you should not ever attempt this.

Thanks, know I understand how the barrels work that allow both.  I wouldn’t have tried it with out making sure it would work first.
