I was planning on purchasing an Elite handgun scope but I came across a 300 win mag barrel for my encore that had weaver bases burris "Z" rings and a T/C 3x9x40 scope already mounted.  My question is, how are the T/C scopes?  I know they sell around $250 so it should be pretty good.  Can you shed some light on the subject?

Jamie,

I have never owned a T/C scope, but I have used 2 or 3 on the same gun you mentioned.  The calibers varied, but the point of impact stayed constant, and the tracking was fine.  The optics weren't too bad either.

I'm not sure who makes the scopes for T/C, but they are neither bad nor great, just good in my personal opinion based on limited experience.

As for the price, yes, you generally get what you pay for with optics, but then again, I'm not very well familiar with the pricing of T/C scopes either.

I wish I could tell you more, but unfortunately I have only limited experience with these scopes.
