22 WMR standard or bull barrel?
« on: June 30, 2006, 05:46:41 AM »
I'm getting ready to order a 22 WMR barrel for a Sportster that I have and noticed that NEF has two versions of this caliber, the standard 20" barrel and the 22" bull barrel.

The price difference is only $3, hardly significant.  While the bull barrel would weigh a little more and have an extra 2" length are there any performance differences that anyone has experienced?  Is one more accurate than the other?

Also, will the forearm on my Sportster fit the bull barrel?

Thanks for your input,
Roudy

I have both the bull and standard contour barrels and don't see any diffrence in the way they shoot . I took the standard to Ok. for a PD shoot and was more than pleased with shots out to 250 yards so it will depend on which you like the looks of more  .

The forarm will fit both , but i like the extra 2 in. of barrel on the bull .  :?

Thanks for sharing your experience.  Since the forearm fits both barrels I think I will get the bull barrel.

Thanks again,
