Thinking of buying.

Hey guys I'm thinking of buying a mossberg 151 or 144. both of them are in very nice shape. they have all original parts and most of the blueing left. little to no marks in the wood. I'm going to use it as a target rifle out to 50 yards.
What I would like to know is what is the accuracy of these things? Would I be better off buying a 10/22 and building it the way I want it? Winchester has a wildcat .22 they claim will shoot a dime size group at 25yrds. and a quarter at 50. And they run about 200 bucks.
Too many choices. Input needed. please help.

My experience with the old Mossberg bolt 22s is they are great shooters. The ones I've shot have been very accurate. The last one I gave to a grandson was a 640 Chuckster 22 mag. Very accurate, wonder why I gave it away.

I have an old 146-B Mossy and of the three 22 rifles that I own it is the most accurate. I belive it was made in the early 50's.....Jim
