favorite powders for 7 TCU
« on: April 03, 2003, 02:02:50 PM »
I just picked up a 14 inch 7tcu barrel , I am looking around to see if there is powder that is favored in this barrel ?
From looking through my manuals I was thinking of trying H322 and then my old favorite for the .223 of blc-2

H-335 was my favorite powder with a 120 grain many moons ago.

I like AA 2230 especially with the little Hornady and Sierra 100 grain bullets.
....make it count

H-4895 is the powder I use most.  I am going to try N-133 on a new custom barrel.

Interesting topic - and the results so far are right on track. I don't remember any powders that didn't work in the TCU.

I like IMR 4895 for full power loads and Unique for subsonic cast bullet loads. (Great for benchrest matches!)

If you want max speed and the least flash then H-322 is right on target :D

H322 is my powder of choice in the 10 and the 14 both.  I get great accuracy, top velocitys, and it burns very clean as an added bonus.  But like stated earlier pretty much everything works well on the 7tcu.

I use H322 in my 14 inch 7TCU and XP100 in 7BR. Great powder.

Handcanon, It's better in the 10" than most because you dont have the flash that you do with the ball powders. :-D
