Things are slowly coming together.  I need to relink every thing in the Sticky's and I am asking for you help.  Here's what I need.  I am going to make a list of the post I need to find.  If the post is your please post a reply with a link to your post.

DD I have almost got the program done to do an auto redirect so that clicking a link from the old forums takes you to the same post on the new forums... about 1 to 2 days away from uploading it...

This will make relinking very easy on you guys... just doing what I can to help you ... You guys help me out so it is the least I can do...

All forum numbers topic numbers and post numbers are the same... just the format has changed...

I also plan on writing a small program to search the DB and replace all "/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=" to /smf/index.php/topic,*******.0.html

This should not be to hard and should be able to be done using SQL but I am better in PHP combined with SQL so I will do it that way...

The Cannons plans have all been relinked.

George you need to go in and change the coding in your post from htm to bbc so we see the pictures.

Just a reminder this new soft ware doesn't recognize htm coding.  Any one who used htm to post in the past is going have some balnk spots  in their posts.

Actually, the problem is the software is not correctly handling the target= part of the anchor tag; it is escaping the interior quotes which causes the funny display.  Removing the target= allows the basic anchor tag to work OK. 

By the way, target= causes the link to open a new window so you still have the old thread alive instead of having to return to it via the back button.

I can't change the golf ball mortar contest entry because the thread is locked.

ok I have completed the redirect code and uploaded it.

When anyone visits a url for the old software it will redirect them to the same post or forum on the new software. There is a 20 second delay on the refresh to give people time to read what is going on but also a link to go instantly to the new page.
