After spending the 4th shooting my little firecracker cannon I think I want something bigger.
Ran across a Gunsmoke Cannon. Can anyone tell me about them?
Thanks,
North Nick

Where did you find them and what do you like about them?

You see them at Guns America, in the cannon section.

I bought a barrel from Gunsmoke cannons last year and just now got around to making a carriage and shooting it. It's about 16" long with a little over 1" bore. I could be wrong but I think they called it a 1/4 scale 6 pounder. I shot it on the 4th using 2 tablespoons of FFg and newspaper wadding and no projectile. Made quite a boom and did not blow up. It appears to be cast iron around a 3/8-1/2" walled steel tube. Touch hole was drilled and it was painted black. I'm pleased with the purchase. I don't see the one I have on gunsamerica now.

I noticed they were on the list the Double D had on the top of this forum. I did a search on them and found them on GunsAmerica.
How will 4140 steel hold up?
Any other sugestion for a golf ball cannon under $1000?
Thanks,
North Nick

Hey Nick,
I just purchased a naval golf ball cannon from Tom at Gunsmoke. Did not have a chance to test of the fourth due to rain. But let me tell she's a nice piece of hardware.

That's a cute naval gun. I may have to get one of them to go with the field cannon below. Can you tell the difference between the full scale vs. the golf ball guy
