When squirrel hunting do you guys ever set up to hunt one specific den tree,,or what is your style of squirrel hunting.
What gun do you carry most often?
What time of day do you like best?
Ever have a squirrel mounted?

Hunt the food not where they sleep. Never had one mounted but have thought of doing so, just don't like the quality of the mounts I've seen.

I have set up by den trees early in the morning and done quite well...I have one tree that I have used for 20 years or so...and have killed 5-6 during one sitting on several occasions...My hunting style depends on the season...and what they are eating...I prefer to hunt and stalk and love to hear one barking in the distance and put a stalk on...I also love to hunt them while they are eating acorns or hickory nuts, you can usually hear them quite a ways away and can bag 3-4 out of the same tree before they are aware of whats going on...Later in the year when the leaves are off I sit more...

I have used a Remington 541-T with a Leupold Compact 3x9x33 for the past 10 years or so....My first .22 was a Remington 552 Speedmaster...I have use it with open sights and also with a Weaver 1.5-4.5 ...I prefer a .22 but have also used a .410 and a 12 gauge double, choked modified and full...using Remington high brass 6s...Good Luck
