You'd do better to ask your questions regarding the status of forums in the help area that Matt is watching for them. He can give technical responses, I can only try to tell you what little I understand.

In general when I get any such error I minimize the forums and play a game of FreeCell or Solatarie and when I'm done it's back. I dunno the exact problem here but the lapses are usually quite temporary and it's seldom it's not back when I finish the game. Aggravating yes but until we complete the repairs it's gonna happen.

Matt had hoped to move to the new server last night but technical problems on the host's end prevented it. When you come back in the morning it should be done. He will be shutting the site down tonight to complete the transfer.

If you need a more technical or specific answer you need to get your question where Matt will see it.
