Mortar touch hole

Are touch holes angled to the bore axis for strength issues? Would it matter with a golf ball mortar?

I doubt it.  More about positioning the vent for use with the ignition device of choice and keeping loose powder from being pushed out through the vent.

Thanks George. I will just put mine in at 90* to the bore. I got started on mine today.
