Best Food Plots to Hunt over?
« on: July 10, 2006, 01:04:13 PM »
Just wanted to know what everyone else thinks is,, the Best food plots to hunt over in their fields.
I've had really good luck with plain old winter wheat,it seems they [whitetails] walk right over the other
food plots to the wheat. The other plots include Bio-logic,clovers and mix's. It seems as if they are drawn
to the Wheat for some weird reason, and I was wondering if anyone else had notice this. They still use the
other foods, but not like they do the wheat in mid  Nov....maybe its the carbs[sugars] or something in the fall ???.

We have the best luck in the fall with a planting of brassica. Mossy Oak Biologic is a brassica blend. We prefer to mix our own, and we'll mix a little winter wheat, oats or rye with purple top turnips and dwarf essex rape. That works great in the fall mixed with the winter wheat. Spring we mix it with the rye.

Clover works well anytime, and is our main attractant located in the center of the property. Clover gets hit all year long.
