Trying a new scope and bullets in my new Pro-hunter
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:29:48 PM »
Well I just took off my Leupold 3X9X40 from my Pro-hunter M/L. I ordered a Nikon 3-9x40 Omega Muzzleloading Rifle scope Silver BDC-250. I am going to try the set up they recommend with the scope. I am going to use 120 gr. of loose triple 7 under TC's 250 gr. Bonded Shock Wave Sabots.
Here is the info on the scope.  ;D

Your going to have an awesome setup when you get done. I like the eye relief of the scope and it sounds like it is real durable. You should really be able to reach out there and touch them...... 8)

Let us know how it shoots............I need to try out my new 338 grain Powerbelt Platinums in my Omega, if they do well, won't use my TC Encore  blackpowder this year.

I will let everyone know my results, I am going to receive the scope tomorrow and hopefully go to the range Saturday. I did also get some of the 270 gr. Powerbelt Platinum's  before I got the scope and 250 gr. sabots. If the 250 gr's. work out, I will have my 270 gr. Powerbelt Platinum's to get rid of.

ELMO, I am hoping for great results, but I still have my regular SS 50 cal Encore to fall back on. It is a tack driver at 150 yards using 195 gr. Precision Rifle  DC duplex sabots and 90 gr. of loose triple 7 and the 25 ACP conversion. The only reason I bought the new Pro- hunter was because I loved the look of the new Encore Pro-hunter.  ;D
