Bob Corker?
« on: July 17, 2006, 05:45:15 AM »
I heard an ad last week for Bob Corker (TN). He says he supports your second amendment rights. Anyone know how someone can check on the upcoming candidates to see if they are truly pro gun? In todays political landscape it gets kind of muddy when you actually start caring and want to know who will support the things you care about.

I believe it is the NRA that keeps tabs on ALL candidates.  (NRA.org?)

GOA gives much more accurate ratings than the NRA ever thought about.

I live here in Corker country........after Corker went negative with his adds, the newspapers point out that most accusations about Van Hillery and Blank are not true.

I'm still undecided but Bob Corkers win at all cost has got me leaning toward Van Hillary......

To slander a person, whether true nor untrue is a character flaw.  To slander a person with accusations that are not true make him a liar with a character flaw.........

Am I thinking right?

You make a very good point. I just wish the other voters could be more upfront about their 2nd amendment positions.

As for the NRA and GOA websites, can anyone post a link to where you look up the canidates ratings? I have been through both of them and find nothing.

victorcharlie, as you might remember I am also in Corker's area. I did not vote for him in the primary, I supported Bryant. Now that Corker has won the primary I will support him, anyone is better than Ford jr. It is my understanding that over 70% of Ford's donations came from out of state, while over 80% of Corker's came from in state. Ford is a H. Clinton wanna be. After talking to dozens of church members I realized that Corker was the only one that has a chance to beat Ford. Both of the outher guys have held offices and been lobbyist. I was told that they had their chance to do something and didn't. If Ford wins we will see pro-choice and anti-gun bills right and left.

I couldn't find any information about Corker, but you can go to to the website below and find congressional vtoing records on just about any candidate. It did have some information about his public statements though.
