I kinda agree with curdog. I live in northcentral Tx and we have lots of hogs. I hunt them when-ever I want to and when farmers and ranchers call me. We have some 350# plus hogs and a bunch of little bitty ones. The truth is a wild hog seldom lives beyond 6 years and they are in know way territorial. They follow the food supply and avoid the pressure. Their teeth wear out at about that age and they get weak and die or predators kill them. Corn, acorns, pecans ect... are hard to eat with out teeth. One more thing that will probably start a fire with some. Before you go out and buy a cannon to go on your hunt. Hogs ain't that hard to kill. Sometimes I hunt'em with a 4570, sometimes a 3030, sometimes a 357mag rifle, but sometimes I hunt them with a AR15. No I don't hose'em down with it. I killed one last year with a Blackhills 52gr match that weighed about 360. Caught him nappin under a cedar. One shot. He never got up. Just a little info from a life long resident (56yrs) who also used to raise hogs.
