Not much reason to report this one, because 8 people were stabbed. There was no gun involved and therefore the story is not newsworthy.

There is a one way a gun could be involved and it would still be ignored: If the assailant took a couple in the chest before he managed to put eight people in the hospital.

"Our first priority is the customers and associates," said Schnucks Markets Inc. spokeswoman Lori Willis said. She said officials from the St. Louis-based company were on their way to the scene.

Uh huh. I bet those four people in critical condition feel so much safer now.

But did you here a civilian with a CCW stopped him. Now I am sure someone will appreciate us CCW holders.

If a CCW permit holder was to use his weapon improperly he would be all over the media,, Anti-gunners calling for yet more laws. A CCW holder make a strong comitment to the safety of others and does it by his own free will.
Did you notice the last comment by the police chief/sheriff...

"We commend him," Higgins said. "But we don't encourage people to take that kind of risk. He could have been hurt."

I guess the police would perfer we just let someone be killed instead. I bet every member of Graybeard would take such a risk to save a life. "Lets not have a rash of heriosm running rampant around town. Sonn we might not have enough criminals to warrant our employment."

I love the line by the police:

"We commend him," Higgins said. "But we don't encourage people to take that kind of risk. He could have been hurt."

Let's see . . . Who had the knife, and who had the gun?!

I have to admit, the police here are ususally very supportive of armed citizens.

The way the laws are with CCW in Minnesota, the proper thing to do in a case like that is to use your gun to defend yourself if necessary, but to otherwise not get involved. I interpret that to mean "run like a scalded dog and it's every man for himself."

Here in Tennessee, where this incident happened, you can legally use your weapon to save the life of someone else in danger. Since the guy that went nuts was in the process of stabbing his 8th victim, the gun guy could have just walked up and blown the stabber away, up until the point where the stabber dropped the knives and was no longer a threat. If he had shot the guy, the community around here probably would have erected a statue in his honor. (We're up to 99 murders this year!)

I read last week that people are calling for tougher sentences for knife crimes in England. It seems that young criminals who can't afford guns are going back to using knives.

Of course, this means that the libs are gonna want tougher restrictions on knives in the US. Knife Control! So what if we have to eat steak with our fingers! We must make the world safer for the children!

In Seattle, WA. you can't carry ANY FIXED BLADE knife for protection or nearly any other reason. You can carry one if you can prove it is a tool in your work, or if you are going hunting or fishing and it is to be used in the processing of the game or fish. I served on a jury where we had to send a guy to jail for carrying a "dangerous knife" when he had a paring knife on him that was so dull it wouldn't have cut an apple and the blade was even less than 3 inches long. Yep, knife control - next you will have to have a carry permit to have your table ware when you go on a picnic.
"Watch out he has a fixed blade plastic butter knfe! - it is a dangerous knife!"  Well it fits within the description of the law - "any fixed blade knife.  Any folding knife with an overall length of 6 or more inches. Any sword or axe or bladed weapon not previously described"

Knife control, but they'll never ban guns.....

Look what the Australians are doing.  Since they enacted the most stringent gun control murders are taking place with knives, machetes, and swords.  So now they are trying to bann swords, machetes, and knives over a certain length.  Same thing in England I hear.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Is there a medical term for that type of blindness? I think when the disarmers see the statistics, they block out the ones not involving selected weapons. Who cares whether the criminal uses a shotgun or a balled-up napkin, the crime rate as a whole is up over there.

They should see an ophthalmologist. If fact, authoritarian-socialists in general don't have vision like ours, they only see symbols, and not reality. And the weapon is a symbol of independence from the nanny state.
