I agree with you on the worse blow by with the Winchester 777 Primers.  I thought maybe it was just my imagination, but I guess not.

I tried the Triple 7 by Winchester last week.I noticed a big difference in my 50 Cal Night Disc.I shot over six without a clean(85.gr777 295 Powerbelt)There was no change in performance but a heck of alot cleaner.I could tell the difference loading and on the breech plug.I'll never use the standard 209 type again.

I keep reading the same reports on the new 777 primers. I will get some today and use my remaining supply of CCIs for three moisture/oil-removing shots when arriving at the range.

With the winchester 777 primers, I get the occasional hangfire when using 3 50 grain triple 7 pellets.  2 pellets are no problem.  I use the the hotter Remington STS primers with the three pellet loads and that combo gives me no trouble, except being more dirty ::)   This is out of an Encore.

The best 209 primers I have found to date,are the Cheddites. I've tried about every brand of 209(including the new 777 primers). The Chedittes seal the best,and are moisture proof. I shoot trap,and allot of shooters are using them,plus if you live around a gun club you can pick up a 1000 for around 20-22 dollars! They also seemed to produce the least crud ring in my prohunter. ;D
