Ok Don,
for what bullets? Is this a modern bolt action that can take more or less standard +P loads (50000 cup) or is it an older gun the requires the use of the original SAAMI spec of 45000cup.
The actions that require the lower pressure loadings include but are not limited to Older and slide action rifles and any gun built on the Mauser 93 or 95 actions.

Speer has loads listed for the +P pressures and recommends that for the weaker actions you reduce their loads by at least two grains.

Speer  recommends these +P loads as maximum for the 100 grain bullets that they make:
45 of WW760
49 of Re19
47 of H4350 (compressed load)
48 of IMR4831
50 of H4831 (compressed load)
45 of IMR4350
44 of H414
39 of IMR4064
42 of H380
These are maximum listed loads and in modern bolt action rifles you should start working your loads up at 10% below these.
Further reduce loads by at least two grains if your gun is an older model, a slide action, a Mauser 93 or a Mauser 95 action.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

PaulS Thanks for the info. I actually have two 257 Roberts rifles. One is a TC Encore and the other a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle. I am reloading the following bullets:
100 grain Speer Spitzers
100 grain Rem PSPCL
117 grain Sierra Spitzers (Pro Hunter)
120 grain Speer Spitzers
120 grain Rem PSPCL
I am interested in load data using Varget powder. The only load data I have thus far found in load manuals is:
Hodgdon 38 grains for 100 grain Spitzer SPBT
Lyman 38 grains for 100 grain Spitzer SPBT
Lyman 35 grains for 117 grain bullet
I have been using IMR 4831 but would just like to try Varget but have been unable to find data other than the 3 above.

Thanks, Don

Don, call 913-362-9455 and talk to the people at hogdon. They do not list some of the weights you are asking about ,BUT ,they do have answers! I inquired about some CAST loads and got several good ones.

jhalcot  I called Hodgdon as you suggested and they gave me load data for 115 grain bullets with Varget but they had no data on heavier bullets. Sure appreciate the suggestion.
