Greener Police Shotgun, 12gax2-3/4inch
« on: July 22, 2006, 01:58:47 PM »
This shotgun I have seems to be a take-down model similar to the Greener General Purpose. Are they equal to modern heavy slug loads? I see it could use a shim between the bbl and rcvr. I guess more importantly, is my shoulder equal to firing Federal Classic 1-1/4 oz loads out of it? I guess I might have to pose this question to Greener.

fat tony i sold one 18 months ago it was the takedown gp gun 12 gage with full chocke it shot slugs very accuratly ,they are a strong action i wish i had kept it and turnd it into a 45/70 single shot.i still regret it even now i paid $250 australian for it had it for 5 years and sold it for $500 to a friend he wanted to turn it into a 12 gage express rifle, he still hassent finished it yet but it is coming along realy well he has fitted an octagonal barrel put a new forend and but stock  on it in fancey english walnut with hand cut checkering. he is still not sure what sights to put on it .its a tose up between scope or express sights
i think he should go for the express sights .the reason i got $500 for it was mine was coulor case hardend ,wich is quite rair here in oz .they are a breese to clean and if in good condition are a nice looking gun.ithink they are the best looking of all the martinis.

Sounds like he's going to have a really nice piece when he's done. Greetings from Dartmouth, NS.
