Browning BPR Vs Rem 7600?

I'm definitely going to pick up a pump, probably in 30-06. I already have a Rem 700 Mtn LSS in 7mm-08 and I want a pump for woods hunting where virtually all shots would be 200 Yds or less. I have been seriously considering the 7600 with the 18 1/2" barrel; however, I've owned a Browning BAR before and it was extremely accurate and fit and finish was excellent.

I would be interested in hearing any Pros & Cons related to picking between the Browning BPR and the Rem 7600. I know they both have freefloated barrels and the BPR is no longer in production.

Which would you recommend and why?

I'd appreciate any input you can offer.

I hunted with a group in which one of the hunters owned a BPR. It was a nice looking rifle and had the typical excellent Browning fit and finish. Its oddity was the rearward stroke of the cycling operation. The forestock actually came so far rearward that it angled down and over the trigger guard. The guy told me this took getting used to, and he had pinched his trigger finger a couple of times when he attempted toi cycle the rifle with the trigger finger resting outside the guard. Sort of like Garand thumb I guess.

I knew the BPR forestock cycled back and down...but never thought about smashing a trigger finger that might not be in the right place.  I've got to say that I would just as well not have to deal with that!

7600 it is!

I really like the BAR but the BPR is just stupid how it does that

Firstshot , sorry i cant coment on the browning but i do have a remington pump and its probibly one of the best big game rifles around i would highly reccommend it . Notice i said big game rifle its not just a great deer rifle mine is as accurate as my remington 700 bolt . My friend also uses one hear in NY  with a low varible scope with quick detachable rings and when he visits his dad out west he switches to a 3x9 for longer shots.We both use .30/06 's  Good luck Tanoose

I had a Remington model 7600 Carbine in 30-06. It would shoot just around 1 1/2 groups with Remington's 150 gr. Pointed Soft Point Core-Lokt ammo. Getting rid of that little carbine was the worst thing I've ever done as far as getting rid of guns go's. I might have to get a model 750 Woodsmaster Carbine to replace it!
