David White 308 ALPO
« on: July 23, 2006, 01:30:01 PM »
I am having David White convert my ULTRA from 308 to 308 ALPO.
Has anyone had this done in a handi? If so how did it shoot?
David is running a special for July and August on this tune-up conversion.
I love my ULTRA but the stuck cases were getting the best of me.
This conversion is said to correct the stuck case problem.

Save your money, the 308 Alpo is a dead beat not worth the money. The 308Win is a fine round as is. Polish your chamber as per FAQ. I mean polish well.

As Fred stated, polish your chamber, I've got numerous barrels, never have stuck brass unless it's my fault for too hot a load or I leave the chamber dirty,  lube left on brass or bore solvent will cause sticking, too. ;)

Of course, if you really just gotta have the alpo, nothing wrong with that. :)
