7mm tcu for deer?

my wife is new to contender shooting and also deer hunting. i'm thinking that 7mm tcu might be the way to go, any thoughts?

Sure, keep the shots in reasonable range and it will work perfect.

It works well, I've shot two maybe three with it and was satisfied with the quick kills. Use bullets like the Sierria 130 SSP, the Hornady 120 SSP or the Nosler 120 BT and you'll do fine. All my shots were under 100 yards and the barrel was a 10".

It will do a good job. I would suggest shots under 150 yards.

wel maine. did you buy her that 7T/CU? I have a 10" barrel I used when I shot "sillywets" that sits in the safe now.I also have 14" and 21" barrels that see frequent use on ground hogs. My barrel has the pachmeyer fore end /hangerbar system and a Bomar rear sight.

Depends on how recoil sensitive she is.
A 6mm TCU should be fine for the most sensitive shooter and still be able to take a deer.
