Had two TC thunderhawks. Still have one that my son shoots. Still kickin myself for letting the other go.

Both have shot very well with a number of differant loads. I weigh my powder loads instead of "by volume". I went from about 11/4 at 100 to around 5/8 - 3/4 by doing this. This is with the 240xtp. Will play with the 250sst before this season.

Have had no exper, with the firehawk, but would not think twicw about the thunderhawk.

1st off, Hello and Welcome to Graybeards....
Thompson Center FireHawk Muzzleloader, (DISCONTINUED) in-line ignition, It has a 24-inch barrel, walnut or Rynite stock and blued or stainless steel construction.

Also from T/C the ThunderHawk,(DISCONTINUED) a modem muzzleloader with a bolt-action style breech and other modern appointments including sights and safety, plus it's drilled and tapped for scope mounting. It's available in .50 and .54 caliber with a 21- or 24-inch free-floated barrel.

Wolverine 209
(DISCONTINUED), Bighorn took its place - The Knight Wolverine 209 muzzleloader, has proven itself as one of the best deep woods muzzleloading rifles around. .50 caliber Wolverine 209 available with 22" or 26" rifle barrels. A .45 caliber model, with a 26" rifle barrel. The .45 caliber version features a lighter contoured barrel and a pull-style hammer, it's a 1/2 lb. lighter than its .50 caliber brother.  here is a picture.

Knight still makes this but only in a .50 cal youth package.

Of the 3 you mention I would go with the Wolverine. But thats me I have always been a Knight rifle guy. I shoot a .50 cal Knight Disc Elite.

Welcome flitz.  I have or had all three you mention.  The Thunderhawk and the Firehawk are pretty much the same gun with the exception of the action.  They use the same barrel and twist rate of 1:38.  They are well balanced and feel lighter than they are listed but do not have a removeable breech plug.  The Thunderhawk I have is very accurate and a real pleasure to shoot and is my goto muzzleloader.  Have not fired the Firehawk.  It was bought to replace the Thunderhawk but can't bring myself to retire it.  The Wolverine is a nice little gun with a removeable breech plug and double safety and 1:28 twist.  The one I had shot pretty good and I killed several deer with it.  Gave it to my son to use cause I like the Thunderhawk better.  You won't go wrong with any of the three and it just depends on what you like.  Hope that helps.

snicker, looks like we would both have more guns if not for having sons. Most every time I find one I like it seems to get gone.
Bottom Line- I wouldn't have it any other way.

dancoman, you are right.  The boys have more guns than I do and I bought most of them but the important thing is they are happy and I am also (however, I do have a couple hidden they don't know about yet, HAHAHA!).  Now the grandkids are getting big enough to shoot so I will probably lose a few more.  But you know they keep passing over the Thunderhawk for some reason even after I tell them it's the best shooting muzzleloader I have left.  Anyhow take care.
