Swift A Frame performance

Do any of you have any experience using A Frames on game like moose, bear, elk, etc.?  I recently read that these bullets can penetrate to well, a concept that I am not sure I understand.   How well did the bullets work?  Comments?
I am thinking of using 145 grain A Frames in my  270 as a backup to my 35 Whelen on an upcoming moose hunt.  The A Frames group well, and the chronograph says I am  getting good velocity for the weight.

fishdog, I use them extensively along with the Barnes. I have used my .270 in the past quite often for moose and now have it rebarreled into the .338-06 A-Sq. The performance is often exxagerated in that it passes completely through all animals-not! I have recovered many of them from the various calibers I reload for. The mushroom is perfect of the Swift from impact velocities of 2600fps on up. I  generally do a shoulder shot and recovery seems likely at most times, sure I have had them exit but what a job them bullets do.
     I just ordered for my .338-06 2 boxes of NorthFork 225grn .338 bullets for abit more than what you paid for your A-Frames. I suspect but have not reload them yet to get all of 2700-2750fps with RL-15.
     Your .270 with A-Frames will be a remarkable and successful shooting peice with those bullets. Good hunting!
