Cabelas makes the kodiak express magnum in .72 caliber. I am looking for info on other manufacturers of large caliber muzzleloaders, .69, .75,.62 ect. Any help would be appreciated.
Love them Big Iron's

i have a chambers flintlock .62 cal rifle.. it shoots a 335 gr round ball at 1450 fps.  his web sight is at  http://www.flintlocks.com/  they come in kits but they can steer you to a builder..  it is top quality stuff. flintlocks are  tougher to handle(longer learning curve) than percussion, and big bores also take more experience to handle due to the long barrel time and more recoil..     parts for chambers guns are available, some parts are on waiting lists causing delivery problems as these guns are highly sought after... i had a hard time getting parts for my pedersolis  some parts are not available for the pedersolies becouse they are made in groups, and the groups parts dont match.. ... others like them...   if you want a gun for this hunting season it will most likely already be together..  it usually takes quite a few months to get parts, build and finish a gun..  then it can take many monthes to break in barrel, find loads/wipes for different weather conditions and sight in the gun..  dave

i think you may be refering to the kodiak double express, offered by Cabelas. The double express is offered in several rifled calibers by Cabelas. I have a friend that owns a .58 cal. Kodiak express.
If you would like info about his experiance and/or my personal observations of the rifled pedersoli double offered buy Cabelas, I can/will help ???
flip side,,if all you want is "blanket" info,,I will refer you too the archives of this web site ;)

Lostid,

Someday your going to shoot a quality rifle, really enjoy the fit and the accuracy plus the well made parts.  Then discover that it's a Pedersoli and have to hide it from your friends when they come over to see your new thunder stick.

lostid,

I thank you sir, for your kind words.  I had a computer crash, then a medical problem in the family that took my mind, if not my time.  I am glad to be able to once again view these pages, but as a regular person who can snort fire if I want to.
God bless you and yours,

i stated earlier that you could re fit a chambers gun from right to left..  after thought on this for a while i rememberd that some/most of his guns have cast off.. that is the butt stock is not in line with the barrel.. becouse of this feature some of his guns would not be able to be switched from right handed to left handed.. sorry for the missinformation..  dave..

I have a Renegade that I bought a couple years ago as a project rifle. It was a 54 caliber and the bore was gone so I ordered a Long Hammock barrel in 62 caliber . I also bought a Markwell Hawhen that was in pitiful shape and used the patchbox and butt plate from it on the renegade .All I need now is a mould or some 62 cal. bullets to test it out .I probably have more in the rifle than I would have in a custom made gun but ain't nobody else got one like it. ;D
