Springfield Trapdoor M1884 Question
« on: July 29, 2006, 02:51:53 PM »
I've got a question about this Springfield Trapdoor - M1884.

Anyone a Trapdoor collector?

The service activation cartouche is dated 1889.

I'm curious about that date in regards to the serial number - 4591xx - does anyone have a book that would give me the manufacture date for that serial number?

Dixie Gun Works used to have them in the back of the catalog. Not sure if they still do.
