209x45 encore
« on: July 29, 2006, 04:32:24 PM »
I have a Encore rifle barrel in 209x45 it has the quick load muzzle. Whne I got the barrel it came with a bunch of power belt bullets.
I was thinking a bout looking into getting some 45 caliner cast R.E.A.L. and mini bullets to see how they work.
Has anyone used these before? How did they work
I am also thinking about getting some normal 45 caliber sabots with maybe 40 caliber bullets this a good idea or should I find a load that works with the power belts?
What loads are you people using?

I have a 45 Cal Encore, I tried all the power belt weights made for the 45 Cal. I could not get any good groups. I then went to the T/C No.7759
45 Super XR Sabots, and the 155 grain XTP™ Bullet. and the No.7767 45 Super XR Sabots, with the 180 grain XTP™ Bullet. I got very good results with accuracy. I then switched to the Barnes M/L Expanders. I am getting 1 inch groups at 100 yards. I switched from the T/C sabots, because I did not like the actual bullets used. The Barnes gave me great accuracy and bullet performance.  2 shots, 2 deer down, great exit hole and no tracking needed.  ;D
If  you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
