Can't say I've ever seen one in satin before. I'd have to say that would be the odd feature, if you want to call it odd. I either like high polished stainless or satin, like Ruger's Target Gray.
Six feet two inches! Whew!! I'll bet you turn a lot of heads.

Here is my S&W Model 10 Target pistol built by 10ring precisionwith a Randall Fung set of custom grips.It just needs a ProPoint and it is ready for some 2700 Bullseye shooting. But unfortunately after this last heart attack my doctor and my better half are adamant bout me stopping this hobby. BUMMER!! Looks like I might have to sell it after all this work.

I thought I did this one but perhaps not.
The 617 I posted was made with the wrong number of flutes in the cylinder. 10 shot cylinder should have 10 flutes.

My second sixgun, a M63 bought new in 1979,

And my most recent, a Ruger Security Six, bought used for $200 two years ago,

That's the strangest looking 29-2 I've ever seen? Full lugged barrel , speedloader cut out grips, partridge front sight? Must be some custom.

Larry, originally (50s-60s-70s), Smith marketed most of thier gun in blue and nickel. Recently, they stopped selling nickel guns because of a big HazMat lawsuit on the east coast, but once again they have offered some of their guns in the nickel finish. I've seen film of the HazMat dump while in a refresher course and it was a bad one. The company picking up the barrels took no precausions about where he dumped the chemicals. This is one of the reasons why nickel became so "Taboo", for a while?

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that they had this problem. I am partial to SS finishes myself. I primarily use my handguns in the woods and the SS finish is easier to maintain. However, I do love the luster of a good deep blue finish that the companies did in the old days. The work done today from the assembly line is not even close.

I wonder why they don't offer this beautiful finish anymore???

As a side note: Animal rights groups(PETA for one) do their best to stop the tanning of leather (read the reason we have so many nylon holsters) in this country. While trying to buy a new motorcycle jacket, a few years back, Vanson rep told me there are now only two tanneries in America, the rest are off shore operations, dumping their by-product chemicals into the ocean?

peta is nothing but a bunch of criminals and terrorists. They proved that this past year. A couple of them got caught dumping some animals in a dumpster after they supposedly saved them.

They are headquartered here in Virginia. What a shame and waste of money and time. but I guess these idiots need something to do.

I have to say the handguns in the previous posts are all awesome...

Here is my latest double action revolver and my now all time favorate handgun...

It was a 7.5" Ruger Super Redhawk 454 Casull that has been shortened to 4.25" with a new sight rib and has a set of Crimson Trace LG344 laser grips...

I use this hand cannon for remote area protection against wild animals with 405gr Beartooth WLNGC's @ 1200fps...

In a Bob Mernickle holster, belt and a double speed loader pouch.

I love that piece and that rig is the nicest I've seen in a while. I will be getting a new gun here in a short while, the Taurus Judge. I will be looking for a new leather rig and looks like I may have found the right company. Did you special order it and if so did it break your bank or were you pleasantly suprised?

IIRC I believe I gave $360 for it when new. It was originally a nickel 8 3/8" gun whose barrel that went bad. I sent it to S&W in '93 for warranty work and this is what I was able to get back from them at my request. It has a pinned 5" Classic barrel with the interchangeable front sight blades. Of course, they had to re-nickel the entire piece due to the barrel swap. They did a wonderful job tightening it all up and smoothing the action as well. Amazingly enough, all at no cost but one way shipping.

Also, that is the first nickeled 29 I have ever seen. It is pretty!!! What did it cost new?

I sent my 629-4 Classic DX to S&W & had a new barrel installed. Now it's a 7.5" Power Port and it shoots really well.
